For Providers

Andrew John Tucker

From one practice to another, welcome.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in substance misuse, problem gambling, and recovery, alongside anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Much of my clinical foundation was shaped on busy co-occurring psychiatric hospital units, where effective care coordination wasn’t optional… it was essential.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and long-term recovery principles. Research consistently shows that coordinated care improves outcomes, particularly when psychotherapy is integrated with pharmacotherapy and post-acute treatment planning. This aligns with what many of us see clinically every day… clients do better when supported by a well-communicating team.

Clinical Approach
I bring a pragmatic, relational approach to my work, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and parts-based methods, including IFS and Transformational Chairwork. I place a strong emphasis on engagement, accountability, and self-efficacy, and bring over fifteen years of experience across individual therapy, group work, case management, and clinical supervision.

I work particularly well with clients who appear high-functioning on the surface but feel stuck in repetitive patterns with alcohol, substances, or gambling. Many are ambivalent about change, hesitant to adopt labels, or transitioning out of higher levels of care and need steady, skilled outpatient support to maintain momentum.

Logistics & Coordination
I offer in-person sessions from the 57th & 6th Street office as well as secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. I am an out-of-network provider and supply monthly superbills so clients can pursue reimbursement independently. I’m organized, responsive, communicative, and value clear collaboration when coordination of care is indicated.

If you’re looking for a referral partner who takes recovery seriously, understands complexity, and is straightforward to work with, I’d be glad to connect. I’m happy to speak by phone or Zoom, or to stop by your office when helpful.
